What Can We Actually Accomplish in a 3 or 4 Day EFT Couples Intensive?
What’s realistic in a few days?
What can you realistically accomplish in a three or four-day EFT couples intensive?
This is a really important question, and it's a little bit of a hard one to answer because it's so case-dependent. But what I can tell you is we really try not to take couples that this won't help. That's why we do that 30-minute free consult—we're really making sure that this is a good fit for you and your relationship, that it's good timing, all of that. So, assuming that you're honest in that 30-minute consult and we move forward and we do the intensive, here's what you can realistically accomplish.
You can realistically move somewhere. I've never had a couple do an intensive and not move at all. Everybody moves.
Now, what movement looks like is different depending on the couple. Sometimes they get into the intensive, and with that slowing down, clarity, and just kind of further exploration of what's driving that pattern, they realize that they don't want to work on the relationship anymore and they move toward detaching and potentially separating. That's a hard and sort of sad thing to have happen, but it's still movement. And if it comes from a more grounded place and a place of clarity, then that's so much better than divorce happening out of reactivity, if that makes sense. So with safety, clarity, and movement comes choice, and sometimes the choice is to move away from each other and from the relationship.
Other times—and this does happen more often than not—the choice is more in moving toward each other. And that happens because you feel connected and you want it, and it's what your goal was in the beginning, right? So when couples get that clarity, that safety, and just kind of more breathing room to see themselves and each other, to organically connect, and to start to feel potential security in that connection, that can feel better than you could even imagine. That's actually what a lot of my couples say: "I didn't know it could be this good." So that's like best-case scenario. I think worst-case scenario is still movement, but sometimes it's just hard. What you move to requires grief and letting go. But regardless, you should expect movement.
I hope that helps to answer the question of what you can realistically accomplish. If you want to talk about it more, feel free to reach out. We are happy to do a 30-minute free consult with you and we can talk more about what to expect, what the format looks like, or really any question that you have.
